My Style

Transitional Layering

After over a week of being down for the count due to strep throat, I am finally coming back to the land of the living! This weekend I put on real clothes, managed to get my hair into a bun (couldn’t do any better) and got dinner at Notable. If you live in Calgary and haven’t been you need to make a trip! Their beef tartare is freaking unreal.

I really love this time of year. The weather is starting to warm up, days are longer, skiing is still great, and you get to wear clothing from two seasons! I really like mixing and matching to get through transitional weather periods; it’s all about layers and a willingness to take risks. For example, a faux fur leopard coat with capris and open heels might not be everyone’s choice, but fashion is supposed to be fun- no? A classic layering piece every girl needs in her wardrobe this time of year is a chambray shirt. I’ve had this one for years, but check out similar styles here and here. You can do a half-tuck (like below), tie the bottom up, leave it open over a tank or tee; it’s a versatile layering piece that can be dressed up or down.

Let me know what you think! Would love to know what your favourite layering pieces are.
