The countdown is ON. We leave for Austria next week!
We went on a ski holiday to St. Anton, Austria last year and had the most amazing time ever – so we are doing it again. Not only is the skiing world-class, but the après ski scene is second-to-none. Like… insane. Last year I was dedicated to not using my phone and getting a needed break from technology, but I am going to make an effort to capture more of the trip this year. So stay tuned!
My mantra when it comes to packing is minimal and mixable. I hate over-packing and lugging around more than I need; especially when I need to pack all my ski gear as well! The key to minimal packing but max style is to pick a colour scheme. Mine is heavy on the black and grey (per usual), with statement pieces thrown in (also per usual).
This trip also falls on our second wedding anniversary; we will be staying in Zurich for a couple of days. Can’t wait!
Let me know what you think.
Never neglect your accessories! I feel like this is easily overlooked so I am putting them at the top of my list. You can really change up an outfit with your accessories; for example, a fur/faux fur collar is perfect for staying toasty and dressing up plain tops. I linked to some options from Nordstrom, but Esty is a really good place to check for vintage pieces. Also, packing a few pairs of sunglasses is a great way to change up a look. Quay is the best for fun sunglasses that don’t break the bank so you aren’t scared to take a few pairs with you. When it comes to travelling, my favourite purse to pack is my Louis Vuitton Speedy 25. It packs up totally flat and then you have a good day purse once you get there. LV bags are durable and made for travelling, so it’s a worthwhile investment in my opinion. Last mandatory accessory is a cute hat to stay warm and hide ski hair. I picked up this pom beanie last year in Austria and it is so fun for winter holidays! My love of Aritzia’s Daria pant is well documented. I love the flexibility of these leggings; and they take up zero space when packing so I am taking them in two colours. Also packing my favourite ripped denim from Old Navy – they are seriously the best jeans ever and the raw edge is perfect (and they are on sale right now). To round out my selection of bottoms I am taking my tuxedo stripe jeans from Gap. I love how the black stripe makes them mix in perfectly with the other pieces I’ve packed. These ones are sold out but I linked to another pair that would work well.left to right: Aritzia, Aritzia, Old Navy, Gap
So if you follow my Instagram you know how obsessed I am with H&M sweaters. So naturally I am bringing a whole pile including a cozy turtleneck , v neck, and off-the-shoulder option in an amazing red. I am going for flexibility so am packing my favourite long layering tees (thank you 3 pack from Asos) so I could wear these with leggings or jeans.left to right: H&M, H&M, H&M, ASOS
Oh baby. My favourite pieces in my wardrobe are my coats. I love that you can totally change the tone of an outfit by what coat you throw on top. I’m planning to pack the three below (space dependent). This camel Top Shop beauty was a boxing week find; the camel colour is sold out but I linked to a really luxurious burgundy version. It’s a good neutral and the gold hardware is so luxe. The gold sherpa coat was also a boxing week score! So good right? Finally, we are going to Austria so I need to bring my bright fluffy fur parka. I purchased my pink fur lined parka from a boutique on Etsy, but linked through to the most similar I could find.left to right: The Bay, Gap, Damiani NY (another option from Mackage)
I love black boots; can you tell? I’m taking my three favourite pairs that easily work with my packing theme. The heeled hikers and the jeweled combat boots could both be dressed up, but aren’t ridiculous to be wearing in a mountain town trudging through snow. I’m practical. The snow boots in the middle are currently sold out in black (I got them at the end of last season) but I found an amazing dupe from Aldo that might even be better! Sadly the heeled hikers are also sold out but Steve Madden does a pretty good version. The key is a good lug sole so you can stomp around in slippery weather.left to right: Steve Madden, Aldo, Aldo
